My congratulations to Janice! As you probably know, I was the judge, and I was absolutely surprised to learn she was the winner. Not because I didn't think she was a wonderful poet but because these poems did not sound like the work of hers I'd read in the past. Of course the entries were anonymous. These poems stood out right away. And to be honest, I had the feeling these poems might have been written by a man. Now, That's an interesting point of discussion, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteyes, interesting Kathryn! And you sure know how to pick a winner.
