NCWN West dreamed of this from the beginning --
ReplyDeletea way for us isolated writers spread across the mountains to be able to communicate. They arranged classes for us at Western Carolina University. We were given free modems. It did not work. Too soon. The technology was not yet there.
But now - we have it, and I love it. I do like knowing members in Hayesville can talk with members in Sylva and Franklin and elsewhere. I like the map. It
shows exactly that there are other writers out there
curious about what we are doing. Thanks Glenda.
Nancy, I am glad we are drawing closer and creating a more connected community of writers here in the mountains. I didn't know about that early effort to connect us in cyberspace. Thanks for that bit of history.
