The Rain, a Poem by Martha O. Adams

  This Rain

Listen
This rain
Warmed before bonfires of stars
Rides on night’s black tides
Ghostly, flows slowly into day

Cycles in circles through time
Singing of morning’s shine
And the night’s cold shoulder

Old gray gown
Tailored for sleep
And the dreams of seeds

  1. "This Rain" is a good one and totally appropriate at this time with the week of rain we have been having here in the mountains. Thanks for posting it.

  2. Martha, thank you for sending in the poem. I'm sure all the poems in your new book are equally as interesting and compelling.
